The Church Abandoned Vision:

We are a group of very ordinary people, no different than the disciples in the Bible, who have decided to Abandon everything in pursuit of following Jesus. This doesn’t mean we live in isolation from the world. It means that rather than pursuing the desires or “success” of this world, we strive to live and prepare for the world that is to come. We have devoted ourselves to Jesus and the teaching of His word. We are passionate about then taking what we have learned and our experiences with Jesus and sharing that with the World. We want to reach people with gospel and urge them to join us on this co-mission that Jesus has given us in Matthew 28:16-20. Our aim is to bring the gospel to the ends of the Earth (Acts 1:8) teaching, baptizing, and making disciples who are willing to abandon their life here on Earth so that they may gain life eternally. For Church Abandoned, God has shown us that this calling starts here, in the town of Etowah. We hope YOU will join us in our effort to outreach and disciple this community. Our prayer is that Etowah is only the beginning of the Church Abandoned Story and that one day we help send missionaries and plant churches across the globe in obedience to the great commission. It all starts here though in a town similar to Galilee, the town the disciples were from.

The Church Abandoned Vision:

We are a group of people who truly want to love others to the depth of Jesus’ love for us. We want to come along side the community of Etowah to show them that Jesus loves them and wants to be in relationship with them. It doesn’t matter what an individual has done in their past or what kind of mess they have made of their lives, all that matters is giving Jesus your life now and we want to help you find Him!

The Church Abandoned Vision:

What brings you joy? What are you good at? What do you love to do? What serves other people? What makes the gift/ability that God has given you stand out?

Jesus begins his ministry by calling Peter and Andrew telling them that they will become “fishers of men.” Likewise, Jesus ends his ministry on Earth by telling his disciples to “go and make disciples.” Jesus’ ministry begins and ends in the same place - the Great Commission. Our lives and ministries should as well.

My vision for Church Abandoned is for all people to find what it is that 1) brings you joy, 2) glorifies God, and 3) for us at Church Abandoned to help you do it. Once you find whatever it is that brings those first two things together within your own life, my hope and prayer is that you'll have the faith and boldness to do it no matter how big or small the task may be. How can you use your gifts and your passions to fulfill the Great Commission? Together, let’s go and fulfill the task that we are all called to do all the way to the ends of the Earth.

The Church Abandoned Vision:

As a part of the CA family, I desire to lead others to the feet of Jesus because He truly does change everything! He has been beyond faithful in my own life and I want to see others experience His unfailing love and understand the sacrifice Jesus made for each of us. I believe being a disciple is one of the most important aspects of living a truly sold out life for Christ, where we must choose daily to die to our flesh and follow Him. I also believe helping others become a disciple is vital, so my prayer is that I am able to come alongside of many others to help support and encourage them in their walk with the Father. I want to help them cultivate an intimate & personal relationship with Him because that's ultimately where we learn to lean in and listen to the guidance of Holy Spirit and are led to the unique purpose He has created us for.

I love the commission He left us with and know God has placed a love for missions and outreach heavily in my heart. I want to implement and help foster a love in others for this at CA and in whatever other area He may call me to. My prayer is that we flourish as a church body and intentionally live out a New Testament Christian lifestyle. I want to see the church grow together, be radical and live sold out lives for Christ so we can see His Kingdom grow!

  • "I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect."
